Plans for our Barbadoes Woods retreat on 22nd to 24th May 2020 are now in hand. Traditional camping is available on this farm campsite. Luxury yurts and an Air B&B is also available in the farmhouse.

The site is set within a Bronze Age landscape and the focus of the historical learning will be prehistory. Hunting down barrows in the woods and augmenting the experience with Bronze Age artefact handling. Back at the campsite, a hot tub is available, a sauna and plunge pool. We also have a yoga instructor on site to deliver yoga sessions. And if that isn't enough relaxation, we shall be tasting some wines from the vineyard next door.

From the site you can take an ancient holloway down to the metropolis that is Tintern with its pub, second hand bookshop, the Abbey and the Parva vineyard if you enjoyed the wine.  A short stroll from Tintern takes you across the Wye to Brockwier, once a centre for boat building, now a sleepy hamlet with some fabulous walking up to Offa's Dyke.

Woodland is a bit of a theme and we plan some Japanese "shinrin-yoku" or forest bathing. There are many mental, spiritual and health benefits to getting in amongst the trees. Like our astronomy where it takes 20 minutes or so for our eyes to become fully adjusted to darkness, so 20 minutes relaxing in the woods is what it takes for wildlife to rebalance and to really appreciate the environment and nature - and relax!

We are still putting together and pricing this weekend, but if you are interested, do contact us and we will send further information shortly.
