We were delighted to be finalists in the Open to Export competition for which we prepared and submitted an export plan. We travelled to the City of London last week to present "Dragons Den" style for the generous grand prize. There was some amazing competition including cutting edge technology companies, a fabulous violinist and an alpaca wool manufacturer. The very worthy winner was Four Three Six, a business not entirely unlike us in terms of exporting British culture. Perhaps a little more contemporary and a little less ethereal than The Travelling History Company, their products including music, fashion and wearable technology . Had we entered this competition 5000 years ago the result would have been very different!
Congratulations to all the finalists, the afternoon was great fun and the whole experience very useful in terms of focussing our thoughts on our key export markets of China and the USA.
We would like to thank our friends at Bond Dickinson LLP in Bristol for introducing us to Open to Export and to the Department of International Trade, The Institute of Export, British Airways, Yell and SDL Managed Translation for organising and supporting the event.
