Bookings and cancellations

Full payment is required to secure a booking. Cancellations can be made up to 7 days in advance and the full cost will be refunded. Cancellations within 7 days of the event are not refundable but the trips are transferrable and may be rescheduled to a mutually acceptable date.

Trips take place in all weather, with the exception of ice and snow and/or if weather is deemed to be a risk to health and safety. If a trip is cancelled by The Travelling History Company due to weather conditions, it may be fully refunded or rescheduled.

Itineraries

Itineraries may be varied due to unforeseen accessibility issues.  Start and finish times may vary dependent on traffic, road closure or other unexpected circumstances. In the event of delays, time will be added to the end of a trip, or it may be rearranged to another mutually convenient time.

Should a site levy an entry fee, this will be charged separately unless previously agreed.

All persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, unless by prior arrangement.

Our trips take place in the open landscape, participants are responsible to dress appropriately. Walking over rough and hilly terrain is common, please contact us to assess mobility issues if this is a concern.

Whereas The Travelling History Company may suggest café’s or public houses for refreshment, we take no responsibility for the service or quality of food or beverage at that establishment

Astronomy

We urge our visitors to take particular care during astronomy sessions and to keep a close eye on children at dark sites

Transport

The Travelling History Van can carry up to 5 passengers. Groups in excess of five, or those not wishing to travel in the Travelling History Van must use their own vehicles to meet independently at the scheduled sites on the itinerary.
